The beach at the end of the Senegambia strip is the centre of the resort coast. Hotels line the back of the sand, and it's easy to combine a beach day with lunch on the strip.
It's a shared, social beach: you'll see local joggers, footballers and fishermen as well as visitors. Bijilo Forest Park is at its southern end.
Sea conditions change. Follow lifeguard flags where posted and ask locally before swimming.
